Ring Sizing & Fit Guide
Quick answer: A ring should pass over the knuckle with light resistance, sit securely at the base of the finger and come off intentionally without pain. Width, interior profile and normal finger swelling all affect how a nominal size feels.
Measure the exact finger
Different fingers—and even the same finger on opposite hands—can have different sizes. Never assume one ring size applies everywhere.
Measure more than once
Fingers change with temperature, activity and normal fluid shifts. Measure under ordinary conditions more than once rather than relying on a single cold-morning or post-workout reading.
Wide rings can feel tighter
An 8mm or 10mm band contacts more skin than a narrow ring. A thin plastic sizer can therefore feel looser than the finished wide band. Use a sizer close to the final width whenever possible.
Comfort fit vs standard fit
A comfort-fit interior is rounded, reducing the amount of flat surface pressing against the finger. It can be especially useful for wider bands and prominent knuckles.
Signs a ring is too loose
- It slides over the knuckle with almost no resistance.
- It spins constantly even when your hands are warm.
- It feels as though normal hand movement could make it fall off.
Signs a ring is too tight
- Removal is painful or extremely difficult.
- You experience numbness, throbbing or severe compression.
- Normal daily swelling makes the ring unwearable.
Large knuckles
If your knuckle is much larger than the finger base, sizing is a compromise: the ring must pass the knuckle while remaining secure after it is seated. Professional sizing can be especially useful.

Frequently asked questions
Should I automatically size up for a wide ring?
No. Test a similar width rather than using a universal adjustment rule.
Is a little ring movement normal?
Yes. Temperature changes can alter fit during the day. Constant uncontrolled spinning deserves another look.
Can I measure with string?
String can provide a rough estimate but stretches and compresses. A rigid ring sizer is more reliable.
