Neutral pigments have a pale daytime appearance. Ultimate Green is our brightest green and a favorite for a long, strong glow.

Daytime-pigmented powders bring visible color before charging. The daytime hue and glow hue can be different: Blue Water turns navy into aqua.

The other times are approximate figures supplied by Rune Refinery, including Dark Matter’s own 1-hour duration. Glow gradually fades, and charge, material and darkness affect visibility.
Swatches are color illustrations, not calibrated product photographs or brightness measurements. Material, powder loading, charge and viewing conditions change the appearance. Shades marked as estimates are illustrative interpretations of the recipe.
06 / BRIGHTNESS & AFTERGLOW
Big glow.
A long, fading tail.
Glow starts brightest after charging, then gradually fades. A long afterglow means a faint glow can remain detectable well after the initial burst.
How long does it last?
Our approximate glow times range from 15 minutes for Phantom to 12+ hours for Ultimate Green. Each rated color has its time on the card above.

Racing Orange starts shockingly bright, with about 1 hour of glow. Initial brightness and total glow time describe different things. Dark Matter Green also lasts about 1 hour, based on its own reported performance.
Our six blend estimates use percentage-weighted averages of the base powder times, rounded to half an hour. They are guides for comparison, not measured duration ratings. Each powder fades differently, and pigments or carbon can absorb light.

Each table states a D65 light source, 1,000 lux and a 10-minute charge. The purple table reports 2-minute and 10-minute readings; its 10-minute value is used here. These examples do not identify the exact batches used in our pieces. Larger particles generally improve brightness and duration within a suitable pigment family; we choose the largest practical grains we can source for our work.

Light it up.
Expose the piece to a suitable bright light, sunlight or UV source. Charge strength and time influence how bright the glow starts.
VIEW
Let darkness do its part.
Glow is easiest to see in a dark room after your eyes adjust. Ambient light can hide a glow that is still there.
CHOOSE
Pick the personality.
Choose Ultimate Green for maximum green glow, Blue Water for a navy-to-aqua shift, or a hybrid for its own daytime finish.
